Family Mission Plan

(I know that this post won't make much sense to people not living in Lubbock as well as my friends of faiths other than Mormonism. But I keep this blog even more for me and my children than for others, so I'm forging ahead.)

In an effort to be obedient and support our stake presidency, our family started a family mission plan recently. We updated our plan tonight right before bed. Here are Haven's contributions:

1. Passionately insisting on adding Flower-Sparkle's name to our list of people we can do things for. Flower-Sparkle is her dead (for months) pet frog. Her name is now on our list.

2. While sitting on my lap during the family prayer part, tooting repeatedly. Over and over. With her eyes closed and arms folded reverently the whole time.

3. Stating that she's been thinking about it, and she's not sure if it's a good idea or not, but she thinks we should give Charlie a guitar (Charlie is a friend of Eli's with whom Haven is completely enamored...she has casually proposed to him several times, with no response from him, which is very upsetting to her).

4. Stating that if we can't give Charlie a guitar, we could just "buy him a armadillo."

5. Letting us know that if the armadillo thing doesn't work out, we could just give Charlie a bird.

Elijah was in stitches for most of this. We finished, and Dave and I tucked her in bed laughing out loud. Ahhhhhh. The whole thing was a total bust. But not really. It felt good to laugh together as a family, even if Haven didn't really understand why everyone thought she was so funny. Good thing God knows the intentions of our hearts!
